On Love

I would never wish to be controversial. My thoughts are something like

  1. Love covers a multitude of sins. Salvation by Love Alone.
  2. Love is willing the Good of another.
  3. Confusing Good for Evil can lead one intensely to will the Evil of another.
  4. Evil covers a multitude of sins is blasphemous.

It is terrifying to think how well, how successfully we may love.

  2. Definitely. I’ve seen it a lot lately, and it’s heartbreaking. It gets back to your comment on the prior post – how quickly and well you write! – about Love more generally. I can’t wait to see your thoughts on ecumenism. What a thorny topic and one that has caused me much…consternation as I consider family – even big “O” Orthosphere – interactions. About the layers and mixings of love, prudence, Truth, Goodness. As I said thorny!
